Vikram is a versatile chemical engineer with more that 30 years of experience working with Anivik PharmaTech Solutions, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, Daiichi Sankyo & Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited having played a wide range of leadership & team player roles. With a focus on delivering results and creating shareholder value, Vikram has been responsible for Contract Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, Inventory Management, Purchase, Site Transfers, Logistics, Technology Transfer, Process Engineering, Validations, Quality, R&D, Handling audits of various Global agencies including US FDA, Regulatory Compliances, Manufacturing of non sterile & sterile Api’s, Projects both Green and Brown fields there by gaining valuable experience and knowledge on Finance, Engineering & Maintenance, Technology development, Environment health & safety (EHS), Intellectual Property (IP)

Vikram has led contract manufacturing for finished goods, intermediates, associated solvent and catalyst recoveries at more than 30 locations across India. These product mix included commercial supplies and campaigns for new products intended for launch across global markets in the next 3 to 7 years. Vikram posseses a knack to connect with people across different cultures and geographies which has resulted in healthy and long lasting relations with all partners. Having worked in manufacturing operations he has an in-depth understanding of processes, operations, technology transfer, trouble shooting, quality & compliance requirements, regulatory affairs, market scenarios. His ability to carry out due diligence technical & financial, for complex processes and products requiring special conditions (containment / aseptic) led to selection of sites which were duly fit for carrying out business.

Vikram has led an important manufacturing site with a special task of restoring production (sterile /non sterile) and commercial supplies, thus covering the entire gamut of complex activities necessary to run an entire plant, meant to cater regulated markets across the globe; all under GMP conditions.

He has played an extremely important role in supply chain at Ranbaxy: wherein he has been admired for his sensitivity to customer requirements, understanding of the criticalities of the marketing, regulatory requirements / commitments and being well versed with hands on experience at the manufacturing has resulted in ensuring regular supplies of all products globally. His highly proactive approach and ability to coordinate led to all new product launches happening on time. His special focus on inventories & its optimum utilization with an added ability to systematically and comprehensively plan activities across the entire supply chain led to substantial minimization of slow & non moving stocks and thus optimization of cash flow. While working in supply chain Vikram has gained immense knowledge on regulatory and quality requirements, process commitments, planning of exhibit batches at alternate sites and active co-ordination amongst various functions resulted in smooth switchover of sites with continuous supplies of the products. Vikram has been recognized for valuable contributions and validation activities for implementing procedures to ensure all time compliance : for handling, storage and transport of products under “cool chain”

Possessing exceptional leadership skills, in his role in manufacturing, he has been able to carry technology transfer / absorption of a number of products from lab to commercial scale with ease. His high degree of involvement in operations resulted in fast streamlining of processes & distillations, thus optimizing of yields and quality and simultaneously complying to the requirements of EHS. Vikram has been recognized for effective and efficient interpersonal skills for handling skilled and technical manpower with ability to simultaneously upgrade the skills of personnel at different levels by regular trainings. Vikram underwent training on cleaning validations in USA and subsequently implemented the concepts and procedures across all the manufacturing plants. As apart of the team was instrumental for developing systems, including customized software, for harmonizing and implementing cGMP’s across the different facilities in the organization.

He has been lauded for his efforts and ability to Re-engineer the sterile facility thereby bringing the sterility failure rate to near zero, thus making the facility operational. He played a key role in optimizing operating conditions, training personnel, implemented necessary documentation and was successful in establishing required quality & yield norms.

Vikram as a Project manager, has sound technical knowledge of processes, unit operations, distillation, equipment selection, HVAC, automation, utilities, electrical, civil , mechanical, safety and ETP : He has designed, erected, commissioned and successfully operated dedicated as well as multipurpose plants, complying to cGMP requirements which stood the stringent audits by various regulatory agencies including US FDA. New product launches from these plants were a great success. In an endeavor to make operations user friendly, he has been a pioneer to introduce high level automation in the plants for the first time, wherein the process involved handling of enzymes. Vikram has been instrumental in introducing and implementing new technologies, be it in processes or equipment. His desire to test and implement new technologies helped in designing, installing & succesfully commissioning a totally automated spray drying facility carried out after detailed process and engineering discussions with manufacturers in Denmark
